In the heart of every summer gathering or family barbecue lies the perfect dessert—the sundae. I'm always inspired by how much joy a simple scoop of ice cream can bring to people, especially when it’s laden with layers of flavor.

- To recreate this delightful Baskin-Robbins Oreo Sundae you'll need the following ingredients:
- - 36 regular Oreos crushed, no need to separate the cream filling from the cookie
- - 7 tablespoons unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled
- - 1 12- to 14-ounce container of hot fudge sauce
- - 1 1/2 48-ounce containers of cookies and cream ice cream (about 72 ounces total)
- - 1 8-ounce container of whipped topping (like Cool Whip), completely thawed
- - 1/4 cup of chocolate chips for an added crunch optional
- - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to enhance the flavor
Step 2: Crush the Oreos
Using a powerful blender or food processor, crush the Oreos into fine crumbs—there’s no need to separate the cream. If you happen to get larger chunks, reblend to ensure that the crust cuts evenly. Once you’ve achieved fine crumbs, transfer them to a mixing bowl.
Step 3: Combine with Butter
Step 4: Press the Crust into the Pan
Step 5: Add the Ice Cream
Scoop the cookies and cream ice cream in large dollops over the pressed Oreo crust. A lot of folks use a silicone spatula to spread the ice cream into an even layer. Don’t be afraid to really smooth it out! Once done, cover the pan tightly with foil or plastic wrap and place it in the freezer for 1 to 2 hours to firm up.
Step 6: Spread the Fudge
After the ice cream is firm, drizzle the hot fudge sauce all around the top. As you spread it, take your time. Patience pays off, and you want it as even as possible for optimal layers of flavor. Cover the pan again and return it to the freezer for another hour.
Step 7: Add the Whipped Topping
With the fudge layer set, it's time to gently add the entirely thawed whipped topping over the fudge. Again, take your time to make it smooth and even. For an extra touch, crush 3-4 additional Oreos in a blender and sprinkle them over the top.
- Use Quality Ice Cream: The flavor of your sundae hinges on the ice cream. Choose a good brand of cookies and cream for the best taste.
- Let it Thaw Slightly: Don't rush when cutting; letting it sit out a bit makes slicing much easier without ruining the layers.
- Double the Fudge: If you’re a fudge fanatic, feel free to use more hot fudge. It can only get better, right?
- Store Properly: If you have leftovers (unlikely!), make sure to cover the dish tightly to prevent freezer burn.
- Get Creative with Toppings: Try adding sprinkles, chocolate shavings, or even some nuts for added flair.
