Barbeque chicken wraps are a fantastic way to enjoy succulent chicken and bold flavors wrapped snugly in a tortilla. They can be a great lunch pick-me-up or an easy dinner solution when you’re busier than a bee on a sunflower.

Ingredients
  

  • Here's what you’ll need to create these awesome wraps along with a couple of tasty additions:
  • - 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken no need for cooking from scratch!
  • - 1/2 cup barbecue sauce your favorite brand will do
  • - 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese for that cheesy goodness
  • - 4-5 large flour tortillas the bigger, the better!
  • - 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro for a burst of freshness
  • - 1/4 cup finely diced red onion for a little crunch
  • - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil to ensure crispy wraps
  • - 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika to enhance the barbecue flavor
  • - 1/2 cup shredded carrots for extra crunch and color

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare the Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, combine your shredded chicken, barbecue sauce, red onion, shredded carrots, smoked paprika, and half of the cheddar cheese. Toss everything together until the chicken is well-coated with the BBQ sauce. If you find it needs a little more flavor, feel free to add extra sauce or spices.

Step 2: Assemble the Wraps

  • Lay one tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon a generous half-cup of the chicken mixture onto the center of the tortilla. Next, sprinkle some of the remaining cheese and chopped cilantro on top. This layering creates a delightful mixture of flavors and textures.

Step 3: Roll it Up

  • Starting at one end, begin rolling the tortilla tightly, tucking in the sides as you go, much like you would with a burrito. This helps to keep all of that deliciousness inside!

Step 4: Heat the Skillet

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add just enough oil to coat the bottom. If you prefer, you can also use cooking spray. Once heated, place the wraps seam side down on the skillet.

Step 5: Cook Until Golden

  • Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, turning every minute or so until the wraps are golden brown and crispy all around. The interior should be warmed through, making every bite comforting and satisfying.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy!

  • Remove the wraps from the skillet and cut them in half for easier handling. Serve immediately — they’re best fresh and warm.

Notes

- Mix and Match: Feel free to customize your wraps with different vegetables or cheeses based on your preference.
- Watch the Heat: Try not to crank the heat too high, as this can burn the tortillas before the filling is warmed.
- Experiment with Sauces: Using different BBQ sauces can totally change the flavor profile. Try a sweet sauce for a contrast to the savory chicken.
- Add Proteins: If you’re in mood, adding beans can enhance the protein factor without compromising flavor.
- Serving: Wrap the warm wraps in foil if transporting them for a picnic; they'll stay warm longer!
