Air Fryer Salmon With Maple Soy Glaze Recipe

Air Fryer Salmon With Maple Soy Glaze

Lisa Street
When I think about a delightful meal centered around air fryer salmon with maple soy glaze, my mind races with the endless possibilities of what I could serve alongside.
A crisp salad filled with seasonal greens, juicy tomatoes, and perhaps a sprinkle of feta for that tangy kick.
Or consider the warmth of a herbed quinoa or brown rice pilaf, which would soak up the delightful glaze from the salmon. I’ve also found that a simple yet vibrant stir-fry of seasonal vegetables can complement this dish nicely, offering a colorful plate that screams freshness.

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 4 skinless wild salmon fillets
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha chili sauce
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium tamari or gluten-free soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Marinade

  • In a bowl, combine the lime juice, minced garlic, sriracha, maple syrup, tamari, and ginger. Whisk it all together until it forms a cohesive blend. You want the flavors to mingle and marry well.

Step 2: Marinate the Salmon

  • Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the fish, ensuring each piece is well-coated. I usually let this sit for at least 30 minutes. If you have more time, feel free to marinate it longer. Each minute allows the flavors to permeate deeper.

Step 3: Preheat Your Air Fryer

  • Before I start cooking, I usually take a moment to preheat the air fryer to 400°F (about 200°C). This step helps achieve that perfect crispy texture on the outside while keeping the inside tender and flaky.

Step 4: Air Fry the Salmon

  • Once marinated, place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket, skin-side down. Make sure to leave some space between each piece so that hot air can circulate. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets.
  • Here’s a tip: I often check for doneness at around the 8-minute mark. The salmon should flake easily with a fork and be opaque throughout.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

  • Once done, remove the salmon from the air fryer and let it rest for a minute. Plate it up with your favorite sides. Drizzle any leftover glaze over the top for added flavor.

Notes

  • Salmon Substitutions: If you can't find wild salmon, you can use farmed salmon, but the cooking times may vary. Just keep an eye on it!
  • Sriracha Alternatives: If sriracha isn’t your thing, feel free to use another hot sauce or even skip it entirely if you prefer milder flavors.
